Hotel Recruitment Day Hailed Great Success

Managers at Winchester’s newest hotel welcomed over 500 people at a recruitment day arranged to find candidates for the 90 jobs the hotel is creating.

Taking place at the new generation Holiday Inn on Telegraph Way in Winchester, Siobhan Thomasson and her team were delighted to see that so many people were interested in working at the new hotel which is due to open in February 2010.

The day was organised so that people from across Hampshire could pop along to the new hotel and have a chat with the management team about the various jobs the £16.5 million project is generating.

On offer were a number of roles including chefs, bar tenders, waiting staff, receptionists, accountants and housekeepers. Other roles included restaurant manager and sous chef.

Commenting on the day Siobhan said: “It was great to get such a positive response. One of our key objectives is to recruit as many people as possible from the local area and I’m delighted that the people of Winchester and Hampshire didn’t let us down.

“We want the hotel to create its own local identity and is why we want local people to work here. This means that when guests arrive they will receive a warm welcome from those that know and love the area giving the hotel that special Winchester spirit.”
