Winchester Christmas Market and Ice Rink
Winchester Christmas Market was founded in 2006 and is recognised as one of the best in Europe renowned for its unique location, high quality exhibitors and bustling atmosphere. The Market Surrounds the real ice rink with the Cathedral providing a stunning background.
Winchester Christmas Market was is inspired by traditional German Christmas markets and attracts more than 350,000 visitors each year. The pretty wooden chalets are filled with high quality gifts, decorations and unique products that can't be brought on the high street. There is also plenty of choice when it comes to food and drink, you will find chalets selling all the festive favourite such as mulled wine, mince pies and stollen. Situated in the Cathedral's inner close it surrounds the open-air real ice rink.
The 2015 Christmas Market will be running from Thursday the 19th of November to Sun 22nd December. Open every day, 10am-6pm from Sun-Wed and 10am-7.30pm from Thu-Sat. Many of the exhibitors will be attending for the full duration but some will only be there for the first half with new exhibitors filling the chalets for the second half.
Experience an exhilarating skate under the stars with friends and family. The open-air real ice rink can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities. There are a team of trained ice stewards who ensure that the rink is safe and well maintained. Ice skating sessions last for 1 hour – this includes time to fit your skates so expect to have approximately 50 minutes on the ice. Free skate hire is included in the ticket price.
The ice rink will be open from 19th November 2015 to 3rd January 2016
